Biography

Picking up a camera at a very early age, Andrei Seki subsequently destroyed it in an attempt to discover its internal workings. Nowadays, though, he treats his camera gear in a much more careful way. Seeing the world through different eyes he realized that there was a whole new world of artistic expression in photography.

His photographic background started with a Canon superzoom film camera and taking family photos. As the digital age loomed, he eventually turned to a Sony compact digital camera and started taking more artistic photos. Realizing that a compact camera was limiting his ability, he picked up a Pentax DSLR with his savings and opened a new world in his photographic career, learning mostly through books, YouTube videos, and of course, trial and error.

Developing his skill over several years, Andrei Seki is now the founder and lead photographer of Andrei Seki Photography, a self made photographic "company" which allows him to dedicate himself to his lifelong hobby despite his photography being second to his studies. He has since switched to the Nikon brand and now specializes in different fields of photography with an emphasis on portraiture. He is now working on new methods of photography, primarily the "Strobist" movement which has broadened his techniques, especially in his portraiture. His style now includes High Dynamic Range (HDR) imaging which went from a simple workaround to his limited camera gear and grew into a new art form.
